As a child I first picked up a camera wanting to photograph lightning. I was never too succesful at that back then, yet I found I enjoyed photographing other things just as much. That was at a time before digital photography was mainstream, and I developed a love of the film process that has stayed with me through today.
I still shoot a lot of black & white film, which I develop and print in my home darkroom using a DIY developer called Caffenol. Made from coffee and vitamin C, it is both non-toxic and easy to use. I also enjoy the flexibility and power of shooting digital. At the end of the day, I believe an image should speak for itself no matter what it was captured on.
I live in rural Upstate NY with my wife and kids, and enjoy exploring and photographing here and abroad.
